Celebrating birthdays has become a signature activity of Stillwaters. These quick set-up, high impact family events are encouraging pictures of love. This Feb 5 celebration prepared by the students was for Rai.

Rai is a leader of the Thursday house church and has been with Stillwaters for about 4 years now. The picnic set up for her had both house churches in attendance. Only goes to show the influence this woman has had in the lives of others. The impact she’s had was clearly told by each person during the appreciation time (picture below).

I was talking with Flo (Rai’s discipler) after this celebration and we enjoyed remembering how God has worked. We have seen Him work in Rai’s life through various struggles. We have also seen Him save others through her. The future is exciting for this woman. Please pray for Rai that she would continue to spread a passion for Jesus as she grows in the living hope.

It’s a guy thing. Stillwaters men have formed an informal basketball group that meets every Monday. Friends have invited their friends; numbers are increasing and bonds are forming. Tim, the student leader who pushed for this, is making sure that throughout the week every person is engaged in spiritual conversation. Please pray for godly warriors to be birthed and Davidic brotherhood to be formed. :-)

Thrill of Hope

Here’s a great opportunity to get to know Stillwaters better, dear ministry partners. :-)  The students are having a Christmas party and inviting all the new contacts they’ve made so far. We want all the new believers to get plugged in to the church and give them the sense of being a part of something bigger than just their small group Bible study. What better time than in celebrating the birth of our Hero. :-)

We’re opening up the party to you, ministry partners! It’s free. Meet and greet the students behind our stories. Learn the history of Stillwaters and see its future direction. Apart from your presence, there’ll also be opportunity to encourage the church with prayer and provision.

We love you and love working with you! Merry Christmas!

Coming back from Square One, the students are equipped and ready to go!

The momentum to share the Gospel to UP students was high during the first month of this second semester. Students tagged along with the staff and even on their own encouraged one another to go witnessing. One student, who has a fear of starting conversations with strangers, courageously conquered his fear and even modeled sharing the Gospel to a younger member of the church. Another student, who has been struggling with evangelism too, stepped out in faith and asked permission from professors in her department so Stillwaters could conduct Classroom Evangelism’s (CE).

For the first time, we used War Against Boredom (WAB), a pre- evangelistic video presentation created by Melvin that highlights God as the ultimate solution to boredom, to conduct CE’s and thus reach a larger number of students at a time. As a result, many students expressed interest and wanted to be followed- up.

From 1st year students to 6th year’s, whether we are using pieces of paper to get the others’ thoughts on 5words or using the War Against Boredom video, it was a reward in itself to see Stillwaters members becoming Jesus’ witnesses.
